Foreven Shipyards is proud to announce that in cooperation with Far Future Enterprises we are offering Traveller starships on Shapeways: link Foreven Shipyards is focusing on Adventure-class ships that are often used in the Traveller RPG. All are 1:1000 scale, so one meter of actual ship length corresponds to one millimeter on the model. This is just the first wave of ships. We already have more in the works and they will be available in the coming months. We will have all the classic ships plus newer and more unusual designs. |

Of possible interest? " It is safe to say that J. R. R. Tolkien is personally responsible for the enormous growth in the popularity of fantasy (once upon a time called legend and mythology). He set out to create for himself a world of new mythology, complete with its own languages. He succeeded better than anyone else has done since. It is also safe to say that the vast majority of fantasy worlds that have come along since the Middle-earth cycle are virtual ripoffs of Tolkien's original thinking. His own mythology partook heavily of the Scandinavian, Germanic and Celtic myths, reworked into a new mold of his own choosing. No one has done it better. That is why you will find orcs, hobbits, elves, dwarves and so forth resident in most if not all fantasy works (and gaming worlds) since The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings became well-read. Sometimes, the authors have the decency to at least rename the critters; but often they don't even bother to do that. You will find all of Tolkien's races by the same names in many, many sets of war-gaming and role-playing rules. So, I shall do likewise. But at least I do not place the Middle-earth races in anything other than their "original" setting. …" See here link Amicalement Armand

There were 6 "kadetten" in regimental staff (Austrian infantry). They were "officers' sons selected by Hofkriegsrat. The more competent were appointed as NCOs in companies." Was the "kadetten" an equivalent to ensign ? What role they played in the regimental staff if they were merely on the level of NCO ?? |

I'm jumping into the Pirate period and am looking for some sites that feature "pirate towns" or Spanish Main" buildings and terrain. No lazar cut stuff….I'll make my own I have Gary Chalks plans and have cut some foamcore out. But what about huts or houses that the locals lived in? Any examples of them would be helpful. And finally what colors for the buildings? Adobe white or that Spanish Main yellow? |

Hello wargamers, I have, like most of you, ton of napoleonic miniatures in 15mm. My question is: where do you keep your armies when they are not in the fields of glory? I use shirts boxes, but I'm searching new ideas. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. P. |

Thats one helluva bug. I clicked on a post regarding storage of armies and was taken on a tour of various sci-fi dioramas, Austrian army organization, several Tango posts, etc. |

Where do I keep my armies? Everywhere. They're like an insect infestation. Oh. Boxes. Ideally, you want uniform-sized broad, flat containers whose lid lifts off or--better--is hinged. The specific ones depend on availability when I'm building the army and the size of the castings, but most of the 15mm live in Plano boxes or their clones, which fit three abreast in footlockers. |

What a disaster this page is. I keep mine in Really Useful boxes mostly. Think wargamers probably buy most 4l versions than anyone else. |

Cardboard boxes with hinged lids preferably. You can find multiple sizes on line. They stack and minimize the dust if you don't use them for a while. |

Mine live on wooden trays in a big shelf unit in my games room; nice to have them on display. Although actually I have so much stuff that at least half of it is away in cabinets and drawers, but I keep the prettiest stuff out on the open shelves for visitors to gawp at. |

Well, I can't speak for you but I definitely did but posted anyway. It really wasn't that original. The first version of that joke was found carved inside an Egyptian Old Kingdom Tomb…..but, then, the old ones are the best ones (or….they're Great Old Ones ) |

Home Depot did a clearance on their Husky brand 8ish by 11ish plastic organizer boxes (pack of three for $5.00 USD) – I got three cases… Use the deeper organizers for the elements requiring more lance or other head room. A few of the taller elements currently reside in shoe boxes. |

Does anyone have contact info for Orv Banasik from Iowa. Old timers will remember Orv from MWAN days. I'm hoping that someone may have an email for him. Hal Thinglum and I were discussing Orv and I would really love to contact him. Any help? |
